Day 105 Chaing Mai, Elephants & Tigers

Two of the big highlights for the day were the visits to the Maesa Elephant Camp and ..... Tiger Kingdom!  This was so cool!  The elephants were amazing, especially when they were painting....  Better than me.  Brad & I loved going one on one with the tigers.  We went inside 4 cages...  Once for the big tigers, medium, small & smallest.  It was wonderful and very scary at times.... especially with the big ones or when one came up from behind and you didn't know it.  I'm not sure the handlers knew it either.  Great day!!!!

  1. Can't believe you got to pet (& lay on) the tigers. What does their fur feel like?

  3. WOW, what an awesome experience. I can imagine your heart rate was jumping on a couple of those pictures. That one tigers paw was about the size of your head. Amazing pictures and I am sure an amazing experience.

Thanks again for an awesome blog!

  6. Wow, what an exciting day! Loved the elephant's artwork. And I would have really loved being with the tigers! Maybe not the biggest ones, but the others. Thanks for the great pics!

  7. Cool pics with the tigers Jeff. We also enjoyed Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle several years ago where you stand beside the Mi Kong and see Burma, Cambodia and be standing in Thailand at the same time. Our highlight was the Bridge on the River Kwai and a side trip to the nearby Tiger Temple at Saiyok, Kachanburi which some Thais protest because they feel the monks are exploiting the tigers for profit. We loved the experience anyway. We also enjoyed Doi Suthep a temple which sits atop a mountain rising almost 5000 ft above Chiang Mai.
