Day 58 Antarctica (Part 2 of 2)

The visit to the Antarctic was a major highlight for me on this voyage and I have not been disappointed.  All the hours sanding outside in freezing temperatures and fierce winds was worth it.  I’m not sure about the 3 hours a night I have been getting a night for sleep…. Feeling a bit like a zombie.   Anyway, the scenic touring of the Antarctic has been amazing.  Tomorrow we will be visiting the Palmer station and bringing onboard some researchers for some lectures.  We will be leaving a little early I understand, there is talk of a big storm heading our way…..  I’ll just hope for the best!

  4. Hi Jeff,

Do you know that the weather report for Antarctica comes from here - Melbourne Australia - amazing isn't it. We too had to hurry up and leave quickly as the weather report wasn't the best but we did manage to get to Ushuaia before the storm came and had smooth sailing.

  5. Hi Jefff,
Just spent 3 days in the hospital and your pictures of Antarctica and the Falklands were the BEST medicine! So glad the weather held out for you and hope it continues. I'd give you an Oscar any day, great photography!
    Thanks for sharing.
